BHS basketball teams sweep Central Heights

Girls basketball

RICHMOND — Three Baldwin High girls scored in double figures as the Bulldogs won their season opener here Friday night. Baldwin also sank six three-pointers to beat Central Heights 53-41.

Ramie Burkhart led the team with 15 points. Allison Howard and Taylor Brown chipped in 14 and 11 points each.

Baldwin will next play Louisburg at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Burlington in the first game of the Bulldog/Wildcat Classic.

Baldwin — Twombly, 8; Howard, 14; Burkhart, 15; Brecheisen, 3; Smith, 2; Brown, 11.

Central Heights — Wuertz, 5; S. Droddy, 6; Schulte, 7; Rickerson, 2; Cox, 8; C. Droddy, 9; Horstick, 4.

Boys basketball

RICHMOND — A trio of Baldwin High post players the majority of the Bulldogs’ points here Friday night. Baldwin beat Central Heights 53-42 to begin the season with a victory.

Justin Vander Tuig led the Bulldogs with 19 points on the night. Zach Wright added 13 from the bench. Camdon Schwartz also scored 11 for the Bulldogs.

Baldwin will next play Louisburg at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Burlington in the first game of the Bulldog/Wildcat Classic.

Baldwin — Pattrick, 6; Growcock, 2; Schwartz, 11; Gaylord, 2; Wright, 13; Vander Tuig, 19.

Central Heights — Conaway, 4; Sluder, 13; Mills, 9; VanZant, 3; Hampton, 13.
