DUI check lane set for Friday

August 27, 2009

Those driving under the influence will have trouble Friday night, if law enforcement has its way.

Greg Neis, interim Baldwin City Police chief, said officers will be conducting a driving under the influence check lane between midnight and 3 a.m. in the 1100 block of Ames St.

“We’ll be doing it in conjunction with Click It or Ticket,” said Neis.

He said Baldwin City police and Douglas County Sheriff’s officers will be conducting the check lane and may possibly be joined by a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper.

It is good to see the BPD finally working with other local agencies on something.

This is win for Baldwin Residents. We get extra officers in our town at no extra cost to us.

Amazing what can happened when you get rid of the dead weight.
