- Dire predictions of winter weather dumping 7 to 9 inches of snow on Baldwin City Saturday wiped out the Community Wellness Festival. It was canceled.

- Once the Baldwin Junior High School track season gets rolling Tuesday, the Bulldogs stay busy for several weeks.
They will participate in seven meets during a five-week span, which concludes with the Frontier League meet May 9. The Bulldogs’ season starts at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Eudora.

- A less-than-par winter season caused Baldwin High School to drop a spot in the mythical Frontier League all-sports standings.
After a fall season that brought home two league cross country titles and a runner-up finish in football, the Bulldogs dropped a notch in the standings. They fell from second to a third-place tie with rival Eudora.

- Expectations are about to become a reality for the Baldwin High School track teams.
Both Bulldogs’ squads will once again be starting their seasons at home. On Friday, BHS will host the annual Baldwin Invitational. It will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Baker University’s Liston Stadium.

- Allison Howard nearly lost out on winning $500 to her younger sister.
She tried to pass the chance off to her sister. In the end, the Baldwin High School sophomore entertained an Allen Fieldhouse crowd.

- Freezing rain and a light snowfall Saturday morning didn’t stop Boy Scout Troop 65 from picking up contributions from the community.
On Saturday afternoon, boxes and boxes of food items filled the Community Food Pantry.
