It’s time to vote
Our View Editorial
We all have the chance to be part of history this year with the election.
From all indications, there will be a record turnout this year across the country. Interest levels are extremely high for a variety of reasons, but the recent economic downturn has certainly got people talking – and acting.
But it’s not just the Presidential race or seats in Congress that have people interested. It’s state politics, too, where we have healthy races for Senate and House positions. We’re also voting on our Douglas County Commissioner for the first time in years.
Then there’s the local. The Baldwin School District’s $22.9 million bond issue to replace Baldwin Elementary School Primary Center, among other items, has certainly garnered a great deal of interest. Anyone who’s read the last month-plus issues of the Signal have seen a wealth of letters to the editor regarding it. Today’s issue has them, too.
Whether you’re voting “yes” or “no” on the bond issue, just be sure and vote. It could be a close election and truly every vote counts.
It’s not just here, it’s everywhere. It’s time to vote. Be a part of history.
