To the editor:

I passed through Baldwin City recently and stopped downtown and on campus to take some photos.

Anyway, just wanted to say what a lovely town you have. I didn't have time to see it all, but what I did see was great. I loved the streetscape and the lumberyard arts building. Baldwin City is a hometown kind of a place.

I've been in countless small Kansas towns and it's so obvious which places are loved and nurtured and cared for. Baldwin City is one of those places.

I write a column "Flyover People" about Kansas topics in the Emporia Gazette and mentioned Baldwin City in a column that ran June 3.
