BHS basketball teams improve seasons to 2-0

Boys

Baldwin High School held off a late surge by Burlington to win its second straight game of the season. The Bulldogs (2-0) beat the Wildcats, 56-51, Friday night.

Senior Brandon Tommer led Baldwin with 25 points. He has averaged 23 points per game in the first two contests. Baldwin will play Louisburg at 6:30 p.m. today at home.

Tracie Weege scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Baldwin High girls’ basketball team to a tough victory over Burlington Friday night.

Baldwin grabbed the lead with 5:17 remaining in the game on one of Weege’s trio of three pointers. The Bulldogs never looked back, beginning the season 2-0. Baldwin will play Louisburg at 5 p.m. today at home.
