Brad Canterbury won’t have to worry about beginning the cross-country season with a large enough mileage base when practice begins Monday. That’s the one thing coaches look to see when the season starts. They want to know if their runners have added up the miles over the summer. This senior at Baldwin High School won’t have to worry his coach.

School board eyes land south of complex

While no time frame is set yet, Supt. Paul Dorathy wants the Baldwin School Board to start planning how to use its most recent land purchase. An area of 10 lots south of Baldwin Junior High School was purchased a year ago, but hasn’t been developed by the school district. The school board wants to change that.
Residence hall ready for Baker students

After almost nine months of construction, the new Baker University residence hall, the Living and Learning Center, is complete. Baker received the keys to the hall on Aug. 1, right on schedule. There’s just one thing missing - the students.
District’s mill levy to jump

Baldwin School District patrons will see a slight increase in their 2008-2009 mill levy, which was approved unanimously at Monday night’s monthly meeting. This year’s budget is set at $15,438,033, which is up slightly from a year ago at $14,385,098. That is a seven percent increase from last year’s total budget.
