Dimple Odelia Eckman

Funeral services for Dimple Odelia (Tucker) Eckman, 102, Overland Park, formerly of Baldwin City, were Wednesday at the Church of Christ, Baldwin City. Mrs. Eckman died Sept. 28, 2007, at the home of her son in Overland Park.

She was born July 31, 1905, to Louis and Dora (Deay) Tucker in rural Douglas County. She attended Stony Point Rural School and Vinland High School.

She married Francis Olaf Eckman Sept. 2, 1957, in Lawrence. He died in 1998.

She was a cook at Baker University and was employed at various nursing homes in the Baldwin area. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Baldwin City.

Survivors include her son, Ainslie Settles, Overland Park, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Her parents, husband, three sisters, Francis Rockhold, Dorcas Cooper and Lois Tucker, and one brother, Drexell Tucker died earlier.

Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin City. Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ and sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Box 64, Baldwin City, KS 66006.
