Witness Band to
perform at Vinland
A musical benefit for Youthville featuring the Witness Band will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at Vinland United Methodist Church, 1724 N. 692 Rd., north of Baldwin City.
Soup and sandwiches will be served with homemade desserts. Handcrafted gifts will be available in Fellowship Hall of the church. Freewill donations will be accepted.


MOMS Club to
gather for meeting
The MOMS Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church.
Prospective members are welcome. Call Beth Morford for information, 594-3302.


Masons to have
annual election
Palmyra Lodge No. 23 will hold its annual election at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Masonic Hall.
Plans for the 150th anniversary celebration, to be Nov. 7, 2009, will be discussed. The Lodge is seeking input from both Masons and non-Masons concerning the history of the Lodge.


Two businesses to
host open houses
Take a break from holiday shopping and enjoy refreshments at two area businesses.
Vintage Park Assisted Living, 321 Crimson Ave., will host an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7. Baldwin Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, 1223 Orchard Lane, will host an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 8. Community members are welcome to attend.

offers flu vaccine
The Douglas County Health Department will have flu vaccinations available from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at 200 Maine St., Lawrence.
Children's vaccinations are $18 up to age 3 and $23 for those 3 and above. Clients eligible for Medicare Part-B, HealthWave, Medicaid and Blue Cross/Blue Shield can receive the flu shot at no charge if they bring their cards.
Flu shots are also available during regular business hours. Contact the clinic at (785) 843-0721.


Lighthouse Baptist
changes location
Lighthouse Baptist Church has moved to Baldwin Junior High School for services that begin at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.
Special guest singer will be Ronnie Warren. Community members are welcome to attend.


Diabetic Support
Group meets Monday
The Baldwin City Diabetic Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday at the Baldwin City Public Library.
Topics for discussion will include neuropathy and holiday eating tips.
