BHS boys ready for Baldwin Invitational Tournament
With the weather canceling Friday's game, the Baldwin High School boys' basketball team is ready to get back out on the court tonight.
The Bulldogs host the Baldwin Invitational Tournament, which begins today. The action will begin at 4 p.m. with every game being played in the Baldwin Junior High School gym. BHS will play Topeka Cornerstone in the last game of the night at 8:30 p.m.
"We're looking forward to the BIT," coach Eric Toot said. "We're excited to play and it's going to be a great tournament. It's going to be a challenge for us."
The teams participating in the tournament are Augusta, Kansas City Turner, Anderson County, Kansas City Christian, Ottawa and Wellsville.
Baldwin's last game was a 53-50 loss at Louisburg last Tuesday. BHS was scheduled to host Santa Fe Trail Friday night, but the weather postponed the game until a later date.
"We didn't get to play on Friday and Saturday's practice was canceled, but I really thought we needed to play," Toot said. "We'll be looking forward to getting back out there."
KC Christian and Anderson County play the first game today at 4 p.m. Augusta and KC Turner play at 5:30, while Ottawa and Wellsville will tip off at 7 p.m. The tournament will continue Friday and finish Saturday afternoon.
