Legislative forum
scheduled for Jan. 11
The Lawrence Branch of the American Association of University Women will be
holding a legislative forum at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 11 at the Dole Institute of Politics in Lawrence.
All Douglas County legislators will be present except Tom Holland, D-Baldwin City, who will be out of town. Ann Gardner of the Lawrence Journal-World will be the moderator. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.


Diabetes group
cancels meeting
The Baldwin City Diabetes Support Group meeting scheduled for Monday has been cancelled. For additional information contact Marcia Treat at 594-6460.


Ladies to gather at
Lighthouse church
The ladies of Lighthouse Baptist Temple will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the church basement for Bible study. Community ladies are welcome to attend.


NCCC announces
fall graduates
Neosho County Community College has listed fall graduates. Students from Baldwin City who graduated with a Practical Nursing degree were: Susanne Grossoehme, Dawn Moore and Kristen Wessel. Graduating with an Associates Degree was Marcia Devers.


DCSS launches
Yellow Dot program
Douglas County Senior Services, Inc. is launching the Kansas Yellow Dot program in Douglas County.
The kit gives first responders a visual aid to be able to access special medical information stored in the vehicle. The dot is placed on the window and the recipient provides medical information on a form that is stored in the glove box.
The kit is free to Kansas seniors age 55 and older and is available at DCSS, 745 Vermont St., Lawrence. Contact Ashley at (785) 842-0543 for more information.
