Seventh Street at High Street is now open to traffic
After a week of being closed as a result of the Downtown Streetscape Project, Seventh Street at High Street is now open to traffic.
Bryant and Bryant Construction crews returned to Baldwin City this morning after a week-long absence because of the recent winter weather. By around noon, they had the street partially open and by 1 p.m. it was completely open to traffic.
The street closure was part of the ongoing $1.8 million project to enhance downtown Baldwin City. The Kansas Department of Transportation is paying for 80 percent of the project's cost.
It is unknown when the project will be completed because of weather. The project was started in June and was shut down for three weeks around the Maple Leaf Festival.
