MERLIN LESTER FISHER

Graveside services for Merlin Lester Fisher, 85, Wellsville, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Wellsville Cemetery. Mr. Fisher died Aug. 27, 2007, at Olathe Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 5, 1922, in rural Wellsville, the son of Edwin H. and Joyce (Keagey) Fisher. He was a lifelong resident of Wellsville.

He married Juanita Mae Good on March 16, 1952 at Wellsville. She survives of the home. He was a mechanic and worked on farm machinery most of his life. He worked for McConnell Machinery in Wellsville and Lawrence for many years.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cheryl DeWerff, Lyon; a son, Daryl, Wellsville; a sister, Marie Mistele, Raymore, Mo.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

His parents, a brother, Orville, and a sister, Ruth Davis, died earlier.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service at Wilson's Funeral Home, Wellsville. Memorials may be made to the Merlin Fisher Memorial Fund and sent in care of Wilson's, Box 486, Wellsville, KS 66092.
