Volunteer group to assist Baker during 150th

August 16, 2007

A new organization will be assisting Baker University during its yearlong 150th celebration.

Baker FANS -- Friends and Neighbors -- are a group of volunteers who will help with various events, including campus dinners, ongoing art and historical exhibits, parades, athletic events and a Habitat for Humanity project.

"It's an opportunity for the community and Baker to work closely together," said Nancy Richard, who's coordinating volunteer efforts.

Richard welcomed Baker FANS during a kickoff luncheon last week at the Baker University.

"We want the volunteers to have fun with these events and find one that is suited to their particular interests and strengths," Richard said.
