Ives Chapel welcomes
new minister
Ives Chapel United Methodist Church will welcome its new pastor, Rev. Harriet Bechtle, following the 11 a.m. service Sunday. Members and friends of the church are welcome to attend.

Second 'Meet and Greet'
is set for Aug. 9
The Baldwin City Chamber of Commerce will host a "Meet and Greet" from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Aug. 9 at the Lodge.
The chamber has invited the new school district teachers and the new Director of Financial Operations, Cynde Frick. Supt. Paul Dorathy is scheduled for introductions at 5:30 p.m. The event will also include a live auction, several items have been donated including Kansas City Chiefs tickets.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Baldwin Education Foundation's Innovative Project Grants. Last year's event raised almost $2,000 for the foundation. Tickets are $25 and available at Mid-America Bank or the district office.

Talent show is at 6 p.m.
at the Vinland Fair
The Vinland Fair's fair books have an incorrect time listed for the annual talent show. It's at 6 p.m. Aug. 9 and will last until 7:30 p.m.
The fair book lists a performance by the Baldwin High School band at 6 p.m. However, that will be at 5:45 p.m. instead.

BHS Class of 1992
plans reunion in Oct.
The Baldwin Class of 1992 will be holding its 15th class reunion Maple Leaf Festival weekend, Oct. 19-21.
There will be a Friday evening social where children are invited, as well as a Saturday evening adults only dinner at The Lodge. Organizers are still looking for several classmates (Justin Harrison, Joe Parker, Jared Stanley and J.D. Williams).

Diabetes group to
meet on Aug. 6
The August meeting of the Baldwin City Diabetes Support Group is scheduled for Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Baldwin City Library.
Anyone dealing with diabetes, either personally or within the family, is invited to attend the meeting.

Lions Club to
have meeting
The Lions Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Vintage Park Center.

Rainbow preschool
has openings
Rainbow Experience Preschool is accepting applications for children 2 ½ years through pre-kindergarten. Leave a message at 594-ABCD for information.

Wednesday services
include light supper
A light supper will be available before Wednesday night services at Light House Baptist Temple. Community members are welcome to attend.

Lighthouse to have
guest speaker
Lighthouse Baptist Temple will have a guest speaker, Brother Brewer from Bonner Springs, at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service. Community members are welcome to attend.
