Rainbow preschool
to have enrollment
Rainbow Experience Preschool will enroll for 2007-2008 from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the preschool, located in Baldwin Elementary School Primary Center.

Men to have
prayer breakfast
The men of Lighthouse Baptist Temple will have a prayer breakfast Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Area men are welcome to attend.


Worden UMC
sponsors concert
The Witness Band will present a concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Worden United Methodist Church. Food and fellowship will follow the concert.

Lions Club to
have meeting
The Lions Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Vintage Park Center.


Vinland FCE to
gather for meeting
The Vinland Family Community Education unit will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Vinland Methodist Church.
The lesson, "The Value of Friends to Your Heart," will be given by Lola Ford. Hostess is Mary Lou Brown.


Ives Chapel Day
Circle to meet
The Ives Chapel United Methodist Church will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Fellowship Hall. Jeroldene Martin will be program leader and hostess.


Wednesday services
include light supper
A light supper will be available before Wednesday night services at Light House Baptist Temple. Community members are welcome.


Jazz vocalist to
perform at Baker
The Baker University Artist and Lecture Series will present the final event of the season at 7:30 p.m. April 19 in Rice Auditorium. Jazz vocalist Kathy Kosins will perform with a jazz trio from Kansas City.
A Michigan native, Kosins tours nationwide and has begun recording as a Mahogany Jazz Recording artist. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for youth and are available at the door or by calling Susan Buehler, (785) 594-8421.


Town hall meeting
set for rural development
A town hall meeting to discuss Douglas County's rural development regulations will be at 6:30 p.m. April 26 in the Baldwin City American Legion Hall.
Douglas County Commissioner Bob Johnson and two county staff members will be on hand to outline the regulations and answer questions from residents.


Young at Heart
to travel for lunch
The Young at Heart group from Lighthouse Baptist Temple will meet at 12:30 p.m. April 19 at the church to travel to Ottawa for lunch at KFC. Community members are welcome.


Kids for Kids
Carnival set
A carnival with jumping castle/slide, games with prizes, face painting, balloons and cotton candy will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Pinnacle parking lot, 1601 W. 23rd St., Lawrence.
Proceeds will go to help the Light Center's Lovelight project that trains and sends volunteers to South Africa.


Council to host
senior citizen prom
The Baldwin High School student council is hosting a Senior Citizen Prom from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. May 5 in the school cafeteria. Dinner will be served at 5:45 p.m. with dancing to follow.
Anyone 50 years or older is invited to attend at no cost. Reservations can be made by contacting Joyce Tallman, 594-2725, or any student council member by April 27. Food will be provided by the culinary team at BHS.
