LEONA ELIZABETH HUNSINGER

Graveside services for Leona Elizabeth Hunsinger, 85, Lawrence, were Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence. Mrs. Hunsinger died Oct. 11, 2006, at Baldwin Healthcare Center, Baldwin City.

She was born Sept. 30, 1921, in Missouri, the daughter of Alfred and Myrtle Ann (Ireland) Faler. She was a waitress at the Eldridge Hotel and then worked for the Lawrence School District Food Service for 13 years. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, the VFW Auxiliary and Mt. Oread Arie No. 309. She served on the Penn House Executive Board for 10 years.

She married Harold Hunsinger March 14, 1943, at Ottawa. He died June 18, 1992.

Survivors include a daughter, Bobbi Kellum, Lecompton; two sisters, Velma Pine, Lawrence and Edna Ray, Rock Springs, Wyo.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Doug Hunsinger, two brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
