Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
I would like to thank the entire community of Baldwin City and Baker University for their generosity and kindness shown to my family during this very difficult time. The turnout at the benefit chili supper and the concert at Baker for Sherrie were unbelievable.
I had no idea how many people Sherrie had touched and it appears that she has touched an entire community. The support shown to us has been overwhelming and words cannot express our gratitude. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to put these events together and everyone who made such generous donations. Thank you, Baldwin City. I am fortunate and proud to live in such a generous and kind community as ours.
Kevin, Sherrie, Joshua and Jeremy Wood
To the editor:
On Nov. 15, more than 600 members of our community came together to support Sherrie Wood and her family. We have never been more proud to call Baldwin City our home.
The help and generosity of all was overwhelming. In particular, thanks to Tom Mundinger and USD 348, Ives Chapel congregation, Mike Berg and his high school crew, the junior high girls' crew, Judy Wagner, Judy Anderson, Janet Venable, Shirley Rochester, Pat Routh, Sandy Johnson and all the other women and men who assisted in the kitchen and with setup, Mothers Club, Baker University, Baldwin City Market, Baker University fraternities and sororities, Baker FCA and all the individuals that contributed the homemade desserts.
The success of this fundraiser is because of this community coming together to show their love for our friends, the Wood family. May God bless all of you. Many thanks,
Alice Gurley and Myra Glover
