Whether he agrees to it or not, Bill Sanders is the king of Baldwin City mowing. “Oh, I don’t know about being king,” said Sanders. “I do a lot of mowing in Baldwin. Most of it is in Baldwin, except for two pieces. OK, I guess on king. I’ve been called a lot worse.”

Commencement comes calling for Lambert

Sunday afternoon will not only mark the graduation of many Baker University students, it will also be a commencement for Baker University President Dan Lambert. Lambert is retiring this year and will step down from office on July 1. Sunday will be his final commencement ceremonies as president. “In truth, I think every change of life is a commitment,” Lambert said.

After a heroic bottom of the seventh inning victory Monday, the Baldwin High School baseball team had the tables turned Tuesday, ending its season.
BHS boys steamroll league competition

PAOLA — A purple storm blew through here Thursday evening and when the dust settled, there was only one team atop the standings. The Baldwin High School boys’ track team dominated the Frontier League meet by scoring 144.5 points and winning a medal in every running event. Gardner placed second with 96 points, with Spring Hill rounding out the top three with 94.
Distance records drop again
