The American Legion and Legion Auxiliary will have a potluck supper at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the American Legion Hall, 803 High St.
The program will feature reports from the Boys State and Girls State participants. This is an open meeting for friends and family.
Lighthouse group to
visit Bonner church
Those attending Wednesday night services at Lighthouse Baptist Temple on Aug. 2 will travel in the bus to Bonner Springs for services there.
The bus will leave the church at 6 p.m. Community members are welcome to go along.
Arts center to
A taco and enchilada supper will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Lumberyard Arts Center, 718 High St.
Entertainment will be provided by the Baldwin City Community Theater Children's Workshop from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Participants can watch or help glaze mugs for the September Cuppa Java Art Walk.
Lighthouse Baptist Temple has a dinner the last Sunday of each month following Sunday worship services. Everyone is welcome.
University of Colorado
lists honor roll
Sara Jean Stotts, a Junior Humanities and Elementary Education major at the University of Colorado, Boulder, was listed on the Dean's List for the Spring Semester 2006.
The Dean's List requires that a student hold a 3.75 or better grade point average and be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours for the semester. She is the daughter of Kathy Jardon and Miles Stotts and granddaughter of Marvin and Norma Jardon,, all of Baldwin City.
Pioneer 4-H Club
Mark Jehle called the Pioneer 4-H Club to order. Roll call was answered by favorite professional game and athlete. The club voted to build a scarecrow for the fair.
A dairy judging was to be held July 17 and horse judging on July 22. A birthday cake contest was to be held Aug. 5. State fair horse entries are due Aug. 1.
The club voted to walk dogs at the Lawrence Humane Society. Stacey Rudman gave a project talk on care of cats. Clayton Wintermantel demonstrated making a box. The meeting adjourned.
