Baker announces Hall of Fame class
Four former Baker University sports standouts will be inducted into the University's Athletic Hall of Fame during homecoming festivities in October.
Roy Braley, Roy Doleshal, Dawn Henderson Grosdidier and Rick Quattrini will be enshrined on Oct. 7 during induction ceremonies at halftime of Baker's homecoming game against Missouri Valley.
Braley, who attended Horton High School, lettered four years in football and two years in baseball at Baker. After graduating from Baker, he was a high school teacher and coach until his retirement in 1987. He taught 31 years at De Soto High School, where he also coached for 20 years. He resides in De Soto.
Doleshal, who attended Wyandotte High School, was a four-year letter winner in baseball and one-year letter winner in golf. He was a starting pitcher for the Wildcats in 1948 and 1949. Doleshal worked 35 years with the Travelers Real Estate Division. Since retiring he has lived in Bella Vista, Ark.
An all-state football performer at Pascack Valley High School in Montvale, N.J., Quattrini was a two-time most valuable player for the Wildcats and led the team in tackles his junior and senior years. He earned first-team all-district and all-conference honors his senior year. In 1979, Quattrini founded World Yacht Partnership. He currently leads a real estate investment group for a ski and golf development and lives in Tenafly, N.J.
A three-sport standout for the Wildcats, Grosdidier starred in basketball, track and cross country. She lettered four years in basketball and ranks No. 2 on Baker's career scoring chart with 1,538 points. The Eudora High School product also lettered three times in track and twice in cross country. Grosdidier set school outdoor records in the 400- and 800-meter run and ran on the sprint medley relay team and 1,600 relay team that set school records. She was named Baker's female athlete of the year in 1986-87. Since 1998, Grosdidier has been superintendent of finance and administration at the Blue Valley Recreation Commission. She lives in Lenexa.
