Maple Leaf Quilt
Guild to have meeting
The Maple Leaf Quilt Guild will meet at 7 p.m. July 27 at the Baldwin City Public Library.
Doris Lux will present the program on Embellishment Techniques. Visitors are welcome.

Wednesday services
to have light supper
A light taco supper will be served at 6 p.m. Wednesday nights preceding the 7 p.m. services at Lighthouse Baptist Temple. Donations are welcome.


Men's breakfast
set for Saturday
The men of Lighthouse Baptist Temple will host their monthly breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Men of the community are welcome to attend.


ECKAN will distribute
school supplies
ECKAN will be taking applications for school supplies beginning the week of Aug. 7 at the ECKAN Center, 2518 Ridge Court, Lawrence. Make an appointment by calling (785) 841-3357. Clients must meet the federal poverty income guidelines.
ECKAN is also requesting donations of school supplies or cash donations for school supplies for Douglas County low-income families. Supplies may be dropped off at the center. Supplies include No. 2 pencils, pens, notebooks, paper, colored pencils, rulers, erasers, crayons and markers.


Vinland Valley 4-H
Club reports minutes
The Vinland Valley 4-H Club met at Vinland Elementary School to conduct the 4-H tour. Members' homes that were on the tour were the Mocks, Veseckys, Wilsons, Millers, Georges and the Hunsingers. Lunch was served and Casey George called the meeting to order.
Three guests were present, Barbara Pearce, Malcolm Barrett and Ginny Hunsinger. After the meeting, the tour continued with stops at the Nottinghams, Roches, Shields and Emorys.
The next meeting will be a swimming party at the Baldwin City pool at 7 p.m. Aug. 7. Record books should be updated.
