MERLE EUGENE INGLE

Memorial services for Merle Eugene Ingle, 59, Lawrence, were Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence. Mr. Ingle died June 29, 2006, at his home.

He was born Jan. 8, 1947, at Lawrence, the son of Merle Eugene and Bertha (Speicher) Ingle. He graduated from Eudora High School in 1965 and worked for Broyles Texaco, Lawrence. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves from 1965 until 1972.

He married Connie Sue Warren June 3, 1968, at the First Baptist Church, Wellsville. From 1984 to 1991, he worked as a locksmith and shop manager at Rueschoff Locksmith and Security, Lawrence. He started Merle's Repair in 1991. In 2002 he became a licensed firearm repairman. He restored antique tractors for many years.

He was preceded in death by a son, Russell.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter-in-law, Katy Maxwell; two granddaughters; one step-grandson; one brother, Robert Ingle, Baldwin City; two sisters, Clara Ingle, Bremerton, Wash., and Jo Ingle, Las Cruces, N.M.

Burial will be at a later date . Memorials may be made to the Merle Ingle Educational Fund and sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, PO Box 1260, Lawrence, KS 66044.
