local blood drive
The Baldwin City Rotary Club will sponsor a local blood drive by the Community Blood Center from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. July 15 at the American Legion Hall in Baldwin.

Ives Chapel hosts
Bible school
Children ages preschool through the eighth grade are invited to attend Vacation Bible School at Ives Chapel United Methodist Church from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. July 24 through July 28.
The theme is "Adventure of Treasure Seekers." A light supper will be provided each evening. In order to have enough food and material available, please call 594-6555 and leave a phone message with names, ages and number of children. All children of the community are welcome to attend.

BBB has warnings
for consumers
The Better Business Bureau warns consumers to check out door-to-door sales people before signing anything or giving anyone money. The salesperson may be from out of state and the consumer will have no means to get their money back. Never give out your personal information to anyone on the phone or at your door.

Auxiliary presents
memorial scholarships
Three 2006 Baldwin High School seniors received awards from the American Legion Auxiliary that were established as memorial scholarships.
They were: Kelsey Heckathorne, Ethel Mae Carlson Book Award; Mark Jehle, Ethel Mae Carlson Book Award; Ashley Snedeger, Gladys Keller Book Award.
