GEORGE M. DODDER

Funeral services for George M. Dodder, 91, rural Baldwin City, were Wednesday at Worden United Methodist Church. Mr. Dodder died Feb. 4, 2006, at Baldwin Care Center.

He was born June 20, 1914, in Douglas County, the son of John and Emma Eagon Dodder. He attended school in Cargy. He lived in the Overbrook area for 15 years before he moved to Worden and to Baldwin in 2002.

Mr. Dodder was a farmer and a truck driver. He worked at Forbes Air Force Base and also on building the Kansas Turnpike. He continued to farm and work at Kansas University with building and grounds maintenance. He attended Worden United Methodist Church.

He married Florence Heim Feb. 12, 1942, in Worden. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Flory and her husband Michael, Lawrence, and Marlene Harris and her husband Robert, Worden; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Marian Dodder and Glen Dodder, a son, Gary and a son-in-law, Eldon Flory.

Memorials can be made to the Worden United Methodist Church building fund or Douglas County Visiting Nurses and sent in care of Greenwood-Roberts Funeral Home, Box 268, Overbrook, KS 66524.
