Catloth represents
Baldwin in pageant
Olivia Catloth participated in the Miss Kansas Teen USA pageant held at the Lied Center in Lawrence Dec. 15-17. She represented Baldwin City.
Catloth was a semi-finalist and received awards for Miss Photogenic and the Evening Gown Award.

Worden UMC plans
watch party Sunday
Worden United Methodist Church will be having a Watch Night Party Sunday starting at 7 p.m. The night will include food, fun and fellowship ending with a Praise and Communion Service at 11:15 p.m. The community is invited to come and join in.

DCSS to assist with
Medicare Part D
Douglas County Senior Services will assist the public with Medicare Part D from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today and Friday at the Senior Center, 745 Vermont St., Lawrence.
This is the last opportunity to enroll during this Annual Election Period. Benefits begin Jan. 1. Those interesting should bring Medicare card and personal list of drugs. Call Paula, (785) 842-0543, for information.

Palmyra Lodge
installs officers
The newly elected and appointed 2007 officers of Palmyra Lodge No. 23, AF&AM were installed by Worshipful Brother Wayne H. Rollf as Installing Master, assisted by Worshipful Brother Robert Anderson as Installing Marshal.
Officers are: Worshipful Master Thomas G. Kleist; Senior Warden Edward R. Pearson; Junior Warden Archer B. Carlson; Treasurer Merle Shultz; Secretary Wayne H. Rollf (Installed by Worshipful Brother Thomas G. Kleist); Senior Deacon T.J. Danley; and Junior Deacon, Robert L. Hey.
After a few remarks from Thomas Kleist thanking the Brothers for giving him the honor of serving the lodge as master and sharing some thoughts about how to make Masonry more visible in the community, members enjoyed refreshments and fellowship.

Appraiser's office
to mail property forms
The Douglas County Appraiser's office will mail the 2007 Personal Property Assessment forms Friday. Personal property includes boats, mobile homes, large trucks and business machinery and equipment.
Forms must be signed and returned by March 15. Late filers are subject to a late fee. Taxpayers who have such property but do not receive a form should call the appraiser's office at (785) 832-5289.
