Pick up boxes at
Santa Fe Market
Tool kits for the Picture Perfect Christmas Scavenger Hunt sponsored by the Friends of the Baldwin City Recreation Commission can be picked up at Santa Fe Market. Cash prizes totaling $1,000 are available.

Quilters guild to
have potluck
The Maple Leaf Quilters Guild will meet at 6 p.m. today at Baldwin High School.
Each person should bring a potluck dish, an item for the friendship basket, fat quarter for drawing and a wrapped total of one yard of fabric. Call (785) 841-3949 for information.

Clearfield to have
German Festival
The annual German Christmas Festival at Clearfield United Methodist Church will be from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday. A German dinner will be served and a bake and craft sale will be available.
The church is located seven miles south of Eudora or four miles north of U.S. Highway 56 on County Road 1061. For information, call (785) 883-2360.

schedule meeting
The Clearfield - Ives Chapel United Methodist Youth group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Clearfield UM Church. Youth 6th through 12th grades are invited.

DCSS to assist with
Medicare questions
Douglas County Senior Services, Inc., will be at the Baldwin City Public Library from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to assist seniors with questions about Medicare Part D, Medicare billing questions, caregiver's support, cell phones for seniors and the Yellow Dot Program. Vinland FCE to
meet Tuesday
Vinland Family and Community Education unit will meet at noon Tuesday at the home of Lola Ford. Members should bring a covered dish, table service and canned food donations for the food pantry.

Girls Night Out
scheduled Thursdays
Many downtown merchants in Baldwin are having Girls/Ladies Night Out from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Thursday until Christmas that will feature some specials for the ladies.

First UM Church
shares activities
The Baldwin First United Methodist Church will host several activities this holiday season.
Sunday is a dinner for families with younger children. There will be crafts, activities and Santa from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. RSVP at (785) 594-6612. Dec. 17 is the children's Christmas program, caroling and cookies to shut-ins and a soup supper beginning at 5 p.m. Christmas Eve services are at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Community members are welcome to attend all events.

RWD No. 4 to
meet Tuesday
Rural Water District No. 4, Douglas County, will have its regular meeting beginning at 7 p.m., Tuesday, in the conference room of the district office.

Lighthouse Temple
ladies meet for study
The ladies Bible study group of Lighthouse Baptist Temple meets at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesdays each month at the church. Community women are welcome to attend.

Ives Chapel Evening
Circle to meet
The Ives Chapel United Methodist Church Evening Circle will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church to go Christmas caroling followed by a cookie exchange at the church.

First UM Women to
have general meeting
The First United Methodist Women will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Fellowship Hall. Hostess will be Sarah Second Half Circle.
The program is "Let There Be Peace on Earth." The mission project is the "Tops to Toes" tree for the children's home in Topeka.

Young at Heart
to travel to lunch
The Young at Heart group from Lighthouse Baptist Temple will meet at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at the church to travel to Fire Mountain Buffet, Olathe, for lunch. Community members are welcome.

notes performances
Members of Lighthouse Baptist Temple will perform a Christmas play during morning worship at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 17.
Pete and Judy Whitebird will be entertaining during morning worship and at the evening service. During Christmas services Dec. 24 at 10:30 a.m., the Christmas Choir will share its seasonal music.

RMH to host
homes tour
Ransom Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is hosting a Christmas Homes Tour from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday that will feature three homes and three apartments. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 the day of the tour. The hospital gift shop will host an open house with refreshments.
