Court ruling will mean little for school district
With a special meeting for the budget coming up Monday night, Supt. Paul Dorathy is concerned about the school finance bill that was approved last week.
The Kansas Legislature passed the bill that will raise the base per pupil all over the state. Dorathy was a bit concerned, because the Baldwin School District was on the lower end of that scale.
"I am concerned about the Baldwin City school district, because the plan is giving us the lowest per pupil rise in the state," Dorathy said. "We got the short end of the stick and I am concerned about that."
The school board will be holding a special meeting to discuss the budget and a couple other items at 7 p.m. Monday at District Office.
