Funeral services for Olive Louise Woodhead, 92, formerly of Lawrence were Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence. Mrs. Woodhead died Sept. 28, 2005, at Lewisville Medical Center, Lewisville, Texas.

She was born Aug. 24, 1913, at Hoyt, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Mohler) Barker. She graduated from Hoyt High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lawrence, and a member of Lawrence Business and Professional Women. She was co-owner of Gene's Market and was a clerk at Weaver's Dept. Store. She also sold Avon. She was a Lawrence resident from 1940 until 1998, when she moved to Texas.

She married Gene Woodhead Feb. 24, 1934, at Topeka. He died in 1977.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Finney, Garland, Texas; three sons, Robert Woodhead, Baldwin City, Randy Woodhead, Ft. Worth, Texas, and Ray Woodhead, Shawnee; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Graveside services for Russell Edmonds, Sr., 64, Lawrence, were Wednesday at Vinland Cemetery. Mr. Edmonds died Sept. 29, 2005, at his home.

He was born Nov. 24, 1940, at McGree, Miss., the son of Melvin George Edmonds, Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth (Harper) Edmonds. He graduated from Vinland High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a concrete finisher.

Survivors include three sons, Russell L. Edmonds, Jr., Tonganoxie, Chadley E. Edmonds and Dale W. Edmonds, both of Lawrence; a daughter, LaVonda Edmonds-Lichte, Miss.; four brothers, David D. Edmonds and Mark Edmonds, both of Lawrence, Melvin G. Edmonds, Jr., Pomona, and Dale Robert Edmonds, Henderson, Colo.; two sisters, Betty Jo Hurrelbrink, Sedalia, Mo., and Patricia Ann Flory, Chapman, and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Edmonds and Stephen Edmonds and a sister, Sharon Rose Christian.

Graveside services for Mary Lou Wendt, 66, Ottawa, will be at 11 a.m. today at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Mrs. Wendt died Oct. 2, 2005, at her home.

She was born June 30, 1939, at Valley Falls, the daughter of Harry and Esther Mae (Glassel) Newman. She graduated from Denison High School in 1957.

She married Raymond R. Wendt Sept. 20, 1958 at Denison. He died March 1, 1994. They lived in Eudora and Baldwin City before moving to Ottawa in 1990. She worked as a cook for Ottawa Retirement Village and Ottawa University. She also worked at the Ottawa Herald.

Survivors include four sons, Mike Wendt and his wife Kim, Basehor, Danny Wendt and his wife Cathy, Baldwin City, Greg Wendt and Roxanne, Melvern, and Steve Wendt and his wife Linda, Ottawa; a sister, Barb Knaak and her husband Richard, Holton; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Don Newman and Harold Newman.
