EMORY M. PRICE
Private family services for Emory M. Price, 69, Baldwin City, were Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin City. Mr. Price died May 16, 2005, at his home.
He was born September 10, 1935, at Lawrence, the son of Raymond E. and Violet C. (Jardon) Price. He graduated from Baldwin High School in 1953. He joined the United States Air Force Oct. 21, 1957, and served at the Columbus Air Force Base in Columbus, Miss. He was honorably discharged Oct. 21, 1963. He was employed as a salesman for Mac Tools and Snap On Tools and worked as a carpenter for several years.
He married Yvonne D. Garrelts at Buckley, Ill., Dec. 15, 1957. They lived in Memphis, Tenn., for several years before moving to Yellville, Ark. In 1983, the family moved to Baldwin City where they have lived since.
He was a member of Lloyd Beaton American Legion Post No. 228, Baldwin City.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne, of the home; two daughters, Renee Blake and her husband Dail, Prairie Village, and Rhonda Levens and her husband Randy, Syracuse; three grandchildren and two sisters, Laverna Heffner, Overbrook, and Cleo Groff, Sun City, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Dale Price, and three sisters, Maxine Price, Lucille Kerns and Adean Pease.
