Graveside services for Jackson W. Wiseman Sr., 76, Ottawa, were Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence. Mr. Wiseman died June 3, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.

He was born July 27, 1928, in Sugar Creek Township, the son of James Sylvester and Eunice Edna (Jackson) Wiseman. He grew up in Wellsville moving later to Vinland. He moved to Ottawa in 1978. He attended schools in rural Wellsville and Miami County.

He was a lifelong farmer. He worked several years for Bob Caylor Construction and Weigand Farms. He was on the board of directors of Milk Producers Marketing, who owned and operated All Star Dairy. He was on the Vinland School Board and a member of the board of Rural Water District 4.

He married Talitha Stevens on May 31, 1947. They divorced. He married Marian Davis May 11, 1979, at Lawrence. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son Steven Wiseman and his wife Janey, Baldwin City; two step-daughters, Linda Easum, Lawrence, and Donna Davis, Oskaloosa; a step-son, Ron Davis, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law Linda Wiseman, Vinland; a sister, Frances Phillips, Paola; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Wallace Wiseman and Max Wiseman and a son Jackson Wiseman Jr.
