Watson to celebrate

100th birthday

Ruby Watson will celebrate her 100th birthday at 10 a.m. on June 8 at Baldwin Care Center. She was born June 8, 1905. Birthday cards may be sent to Baldwin Care Center, 1223 Orchard Lane, Baldwin City, KS 66006.

KDOT to have

update on 59

The Kansas Department of Transportation will hold a public information open house to discuss the selected alignment for the project to improve U.S. Highway 59 from Ottawa north to the Franklin-Douglas county line.

The meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Franklin County Annex, 1418 S. Main, Ottawa. KDOT staff and representatives will be available to discuss various aspects of the project

The Clearfield - Ives Chapel United Methodist Youth will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Clearfield UM Church. Youth sixth through 12th grade are invited.

CFBC to have food

available at sales

As a fundraiser for the Fourth of July Celebration, Citizens for Baldwin City will have Krispy Kreme donuts for sale during the City Wide Garage Sale at 7 a.m. Saturday in front of the post office and Baldwin City Market.

Beginning at 11 a.m., hot dogs and brats, chips and drinks will be available at the Baldwin City Market parking lot. Funds raised will go toward the celebration and fireworks display.

Thursday's Treat

Begins at Ives Chapel

Beginning June 9, Thursday's Treat will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Ives Chapel United Methodist Church. The dates are June 9, 16, 23, 30 and July 7 and 14.

Children kindergarten through sixth grades are eligible to participate. Included will be singing, craft making, playing and learning about faith. There is no cost to attend.
