If having her mother and grandfather in the 4-H wasn’t enough to make Kalli Keen love cows, it doesn’t hurt that she was born during the Douglas County Fair. “I love the Douglas County Fair,” Keen said. “I was born during the Douglas County Fair in 1986. I would have been at the fair, except I was born during the fair.”

Young Dingman learns she’s not alone

Hali Dingman had never seen anyone like her before. That was until last week when the 6-year-old Baldwin girl went to the 24th Annual Family Conference sponsored by the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias. The conference was in Overland Park and Hali’s mom, Janel Dingman, wife of city administrator Jeff Dingman, took her.
BHS duo experience trip down under

A two- week summer vacation down under was a thrill for two Baldwin High School students, as they took part in a People to People Student Ambassador trip a few weeks ago.
City mill levy budgeted to jump

A proposed budget for Baldwin City that calls for a 4.151 mill levy increase next year was tweaked Tuesday night at a budget work session by the city council. While that jump will remain on the books, the council came to a consensus which will change the need for all those dollars.
City council finds alcohol on agenda

Vinland Fair’s annual run starts Aug. 11

The 98th annual Vinland Fair set for Aug. 11 through Aug. 13 at the fairgrounds five miles north of Baldwin and will have two new events along with the traditional exhibits, competitions, live music, antique tractor pull and home-made food.
