It’s election time for BCCT
The Baldwin City Community Theatre group will again be conducting its New Year measures.
"It's that time of year again for BCCT's annual business meeting and to hold elections," said Linda Ballinger, president of the theatre board. "Anyone age 18 and over with a paid membership is eligible to run for the board and vote in this year's election."
The annual meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m., at which time elections will also be held. The meeting will be at the BCCT Office located at 816 High street. The public is welcome.
Ballinger reported that overall BCCT had a good year financially.
"While we lost money on our summer show, we more than made up for the loss on other productions and events. In particular, our joint projects with the Midland Railway all showed a profit," said Ballinger.
That means the group will be able to offer something back to the community.
"As a result of having a good year, and as a way to thank our many youth and teen participants, BCCT will be offering a $500 scholarship. Area youth entering college as a freshman either in the summer or fall 2005 semester are eligible to apply," said Ballinger. To request an application, e-mail email@example.com or contact the counselor at Baldwin High School. Deadline for submitting scholarship applications is April 1.
