Relay for Life

to meet tonight

There will be a Relay For Life meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the Baldwin City Library. Anyone with questions should contact Vicky Mignot at 594-3747 or Susan England at 594-4896.

Rainbow Preschool

to enroll for 2005-06

Rainbow Experience Preschool is having open enrollment for the 2005-06 school year from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Baldwin Elementary School Primary Center at Eighth and Chapel streets. Enrollment forms may be picked up at Baldwin City Market and Baldwin Library.

Antique & Unique

Shop Hop on tap

A weekend of sales and discounts in 15 stores in Ottawa, Wellsville, Paola, Garnett, Osawatomie, Baldwin City and Williamsburg will be Thursday through Sunday during the Antique & Unique Shop Hop.

Baldwin City participants include Discoveries Gifts, Solomons Antique Gallery, Vintage Flea and Antiques on the Prairie. Information can be found at www.visitottawakansas.com

Soccer Boosters

to have garage sale

The Soccer Boosters are having a garage sale beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Baldwin City Market.

Proceeds go to funding the 2005-06 Baldwin High School soccer team. Numerous items have been donated, including a couch, hutch, antique glass wear, washer and dryer and much more.

Church to have

potluck dinner

Lighthouse Baptist Temple will have a potluck dinner following church Sunday. The potluck is held the last Sunday of each month after church. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Mother-Daughter Banquet at Lighthouse Baptist Temple will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Harter Union. The theme for this year's banquet is "A Day at the Spa." For information, call the church at 594-4101.

sponsors supper

Baldwin First United Methodist Women is sponsoring a District Salad Supper at 6:30 p.m. today in Fellowship Hall. Christine Rhinehardt will present the program, "Of Corset Matters."

Men to sponsor

prayer breakfast

The men of Lighthouse Baptist Temple will have a prayer breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Everyone is welcome.

Group to host

barbecue supper

A barbecue fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen 3-day, 60-mile walk will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Marion Springs Elementary School. Kim Lisher is participating in the walk. For more info, call Kim at 594-3195. Everyone is welcome to attend the barbecue.

Class of 1995

plans reunion

The BHS Class of 1995 is planning its 10-year reunion for Saturday, June 11, at The Lodge in Baldwin City.

Information on some class members is still needed. Those who are a member of the Class of 1995 or know someone who is, are asked to e-mail BHS_1995@hotmail.com or call Donnie Hornberger at (785) 766-0043.

Murphy receives

Webster scholarship

Gabriel Keith Murphy, Baldwin City, was selected to receive a Webster University Academic Scholarship for the 2005-06 school year.

To qualify the student must have a 3.0 or better grade point average. Webster University is located in St. Louis, Mo. Murphy is the son of Jack and Rosemary Murphy, Baldwin City.

Support group set

for siblings

Brothers and sisters of children with disabilities are welcome to attend monthly meetings of Sibshops, a support group developed by The Arc of Douglas County.

The first meeting will be Saturday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the United Way Building, 2518 Ridge Court, Lawrence. A meeting for parents will be held the same day from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. For information, contact Beth Taylor, (785) 979-5617.

Rainbow to have

flower sale

Rainbow Experience Preschool will sell geraniums and mixed baskets Friday, April 29, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 30, 8 a.m. to noon next to the post office. All proceeds benefit the preschool.
