Alcohol incident broadens

Three students were disciplined last Wednesday at Baldwin High School for consuming alcohol on school premises. A resulting investigation, however, revealed even more. One of the students had written about suicidal thoughts in a journal.
Wreck spills cattle truck

An early Wednesday morning accident on U.S. Highway 56 west of the junction sent a cattle truck driver to the hospital via helicopter ambulance and left resuce workers and others to untangle and free the cattle in his fully loaded tractor-trailer.
History comes alive at BESIC

It was time to take a trip into the past for Baldwin Elementary School Intermediate Center fifth-graders on a Friday field trip. The students took part in one of ten Lewis and Clark field trips around the state. The field trip was in the BESIC gym and lasted most of the day. “It was a great experience for the kids and it was a great day,” Mundinger said. “It was different from what we normally do.”
