KRYSTAL LYNNE BATESON

Funeral services for Krystal Lynne Bateson, 13, Eudora, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, Baldwin City. Krystal died June 13, 2004, in Winfield.

She was born July 2, 1990, in Lawrence, the daughter of Kenneth and Theresa McCrary Bateson. She was a lifelong resident of Douglas County.

She graduated from the eighth grade at Baldwin Junior High School with academic honors in May of 2004. She was a member of the Lawrence Phenix Fast Pitch Association; Vinland Valley 4-H, American Rabbit Breeders Association, Capital City Rabbit Club, NRCC, the Midwest Junior Volleyball Association and played competitive volleyball, basketball, track and softball in junior high school.

Survivors include her parents; a brother, David Lewis Bateson, of the home; maternal grandfather and step grandmother, David and Kathy McCrary, Baldwin City; maternal grandmother and step grandfather, Betty and Dale Steenbock, Baldwin City, and paternal grandmother, Elaine Place, Lawrence.

The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Lawrence.

Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lawrence. Memorials may be made to the Lawrence Humane Society and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044. Online condolences may be sent to info@warrenmcelwain.com Subject: Bateson.
