Maple Leaf Guild
to meet tonight
The Maple Leaf Quilt Guild will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at the Baldwin Senior Center. Amy Bradley will be speaking about her Animal Quilt Creations. Judy Johanning and Kathy Davids are hostesses. Visitors are welcome.
Pioneers 4-H Club
Kalli Keen called the meeting of the Pioneer 4-H Club to order. The meeting was held at the Trowbridge/Allen home. Information about the fair and projects were discussed. The meeting ended. Members went swimming after supper. The next meeting is Aug. 17 at Clinton Lake.
Quilters can join
Habitat for Humanity is building a house in Baldwin City. Quilters can help make the house a home for Diane Kennedy and her family by creating quilts. For information or to join the quilt construction crew, call Nancy Brown at 594-7592.
BCRC is having
family pool party
Baldwin City Recreation Commission is having a Family Fun Night pool party from 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Baldwin City Public Pool. There will be games to play and prizes available. Admission is $5for adults, $3 for children, which includes a hot dog and a drink.
Myrick named to
Brett Myrick of Baldwin City has been named to the President's List at Drake University. Myrick achieved this academic honor by earning a straight-A grade-point average of 4.0 during the spring 2004 semester at Drake.
Drake is a private, independent university in Des Moines, Iowa, with an enrollment of approximately 3,400 full-time undergraduate and pharmacy students from 48 states and 60 countries.
dean's honor roll
Wichita State University has announced the names of more than 1,800 students who were on the WSU dean's honor roll for spring 2004. Stephanie Hope Jarvis, Baldwin, was named to the list.
To be included on the dean's honor roll, a student must be enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours) and earn at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
