ROBERT MOODY

Services for Robert "Bob" Moody, 84, Baldwin City, were Saturday at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton. Mr. Moody died Jan. 20, 2004, at Baldwin Care Center, Baldwin City.

He was born Nov. 6, 1919, at Bedford, Iowa, the son of Rex Mann and Fanny (Tisserand) Moody.

He married Madeleine J. Delouvrier at Perpignan, France, on July 18, 1946. She survives. He was the food market manager at Dillons Grocery Store at Newton and Dodge City. He was a member of St. Cornelius Episcopal Church, Dodge City. He was a member of the French Air Force and the French Underground during WWII.

Other survivors include his son, Roland (Beau) and his wife, Tammy, Baldwin City; one brother; one sister; four grandchildren and his stepmother.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton. Memorials may be made to Baldwin Care Center and sent in care of Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main, Newton, KS 67114.

RICHARD DAVID RICE

Services for Richard "Ricky" David Rice, 45, Pittsburg, were Tuesday at Lamb- Roberts Funeral Home, Baldwin City. Mr. Rice died Jan. 24, 2004, at Mt. Carmel Medical Center, Pittsburg.

He was born Jan. 27, 1958, at Lawrence, the son of Dr. William "Bill" C. and Veta Nadine Rice. His mother died in 1981. His father married Melba Ruth Houchin. She died in 2002. His father died April 24, 2003.

He grew up in Baldwin City and was educated at St. Mary's Academy, Paola. He became a resident at New Horizons in Pittsburg in 1977. He participated in Special Olympics.

Survivors include his siblings, Janet Reed, Chillicothe, Mo.; Anthony Houchin and his wife, Yvonne, Waverly; Daniel Houchin and his wife, Kathy, Lawrence; Phyllis Houchin, Zepher Hills, Florida; Patsy McCann and her husband, Larry, Graff, Mo., and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, a brother-in-law, Bill Reed, and a nephew, Brian Reed.

Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin City. Memorial contributions may be made to New Horizons and sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 64, Baldwin City, KS 66006.
