Catholic church to
have spaghetti dinner

The Annunciation Youth Group is hosting a Mardi Gras spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Annunciation Catholic Church. Proceeds will go toward the mission trip to Yakima, Wash., in July. Free will donations will be accepted.

BU theatre presents
'Love's Labour's Lost'

The Baker University Theater Department will present "Love's Labour's Lost" by William Shakespeon Feb. 26, 27, 28 and March 4, 5, 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Rice Auditorium. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.

Quilters guild
schedules meeting

The Maple Leaf Quilters Guild will meet at 7 p.m. on Feb. 26 at the Senior Center. Guest speaker will be Malia Webb with a hands on presentation of "Why people don't hand quilt." Hostess will be Sarah Wilson.

CK of PEO to
have meeting

Chapter CK of PEO will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Ruth Ann Nutt. Margaret Brown and Mary Jane Chubb will assist with refreshments. Barbara Henre will have the program. The next meeting will be March 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Connie Deel. All PEOs are welcome.

God's Musketeers
to have a lockout

God's Musketeers UMY will meet Friday, Feb. 27 at Ives Chapel United Methodist Church for a 30-Hour Famine Lock-In. Funds raised will aid starving and hurting children through the World Vision program.

Association to meet

The annual meeting of the Vinland Cemetery Association will be at 1 p.m. on March 6 at the Vinland United Methodist Church. Interested persons are welcome to attend.

real estate taxes

Real estate taxes and auto tags can be paid on line if you have a credit card. Type in the search engine Ks. Douglas County Treasurer, click on the Douglas County Treasurer link and scroll down to find Motor Vehicle and Vehicle Renewal. Click and when the link page comes up, scroll down to an e-mail address that has Web-Tags-Ks. Online Vehicle Tag Renewal System and click. Follow instructions. To pay real estate taxes, click on the link and follow instructions. The link is on the Douglas County Treasurer's home page also.

PSU releases
honor roll

Pittsburg State University has released the honor roll for the fall 2003 semester. To qualify for the Dean's Scholastic Honors list a student must complete at least 12 semester hours, receive a GPA of 3.6 and have no grade lower than a B. To qualify for the All-A Scholastic Honors list a student must complete at least 12 semester hours and receive a grade of A in all credit course work. Students from Baldwin City who were on the All-A list were Aaron Lewis, Megan (Noonan) Nelson and Tom Wilson and on the Dean's list was Jenna Schulte.

Price protection is
topic of seminar

Jim Warren, Market Analyst with County Hedging, Inc., will discuss "Understanding Options," and "Price Outlook" at a seminar March 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Douglas County Extension Office in Lawrence. Options are a marketing tool available to help farmers limit their price risk in both crops and livestock. The seminar is sponsored by K-State Research and Extension Offices in Douglas, Franklin and Jefferson counties.
