DONALD BRUCE CHURCHBAUGH

Funeral services for Donald Bruce Churchbaugh, 86, rural Baldwin, were Tuesday at Central United Methodist Church, Lawrence. Mr. Churchbaugh died December 23, 2004, at the home of his daughter in Lawrence.

He was born July 22, 1918, in southern Douglas County, the son of Elmer Edman and Nora Ethel Landis Churchbaugh. He was a lifelong resident of Douglas County. He was a farmer and stockman, the fourth generation to farm his families' Century Farm. He was a pioneer in soil conservation in Douglas County, having received the Kansas Bankers Soil Conservation Award twice.

He married Freda Aileen Barnhart Feb. 14, 1938, in southern Douglas County. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Janet Grant, Lawrence, and Connie Hey, Baldwin City, and two grandchildren.

RUBY E. JANSEN

Funeral services for Ruby E. Jansen, 88, Baldwin City, were Wednesday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa. Mrs. Jansen died December 25, 2004, at Seasons Nursing Facility, Kansas City, Mo.

She was born June 22, 1916, in rural Franklin County, the daughter of Ammon and Pearl (Oyler) Altic, one of seven sisters and four brothers. She was raised in the Centropolis area and attended Cobb Rural School.

She married Don Jansen April 14, 1945, at Fort Scott. He survives at Seasons Care Center. They had three sons from previous marriages and added two sons and one daughter to their family.

Other survivors include one sister, Alpha Flory, Baldwin City; one brother, Orren Altic, Ottawa; four sons, Herb Jansen, Olathe, Donnie Jansen, Buffalo, Okla., Ron Jansen, Carthage, Mo., Jerry Jansen, Independence, Mo.; one daughter, Judy Clevenger, Lee's Summit, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Rex, her parents, five sisters and three brothers.

Burial was at Evergreen Mound Cemetery, Ottawa. Memorials may be made to the Seasons Care Center and sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 14, Ottawa, KS 66067.
