Letters to the editor

December 16, 2004

To the editor:

What a great time was had at the Baldwin Christmas Parade held last Sunday! The weather was perfect and a wonderful crowd of people was there. The lights and the floats were the best yet! This has become a great event, and I want to say thanks to the Baldwin Chamber and Baldwin Park and Recreation for making a great event for Baldwin City.

To the editor:

The Community Emergency Fund was developed in order to respond to emergency needs for people within our Baldwin school district. Fortunately, since January of this year, we have been able to meet a variety of needs, spending over $10,000. This includes $5,202 for utilities, $3,201 for food, $800 for fires and accidents, $800 for rent, $378 for medical needs and $270 for other family needs.

In order to keep this going throughout the entire year, we rely heavily on the generous giving of the community. If you would like to contribute, please take donations to the Baldwin State Bank or mail it to any of the following: Gail Guenther, Kim Heckathorne, Gail Kingsley, Rev. Pam Morrison, Donna Reed, Rev. Priscilla Davies, Judy Kay, Rev. Dale Lewis, Bill Neuenswander, Amy Wintermantel.
