CFBC taking orders
Orders for Krispy Kreme glazed donuts will be taken as a fundraiser for the July 4 celebration. The donuts will be delivered directly to you on Saturday, April 10 (Easter weekend). There must be 50 orders taken to do the donut fundraiser. Call Dana Robertson, 594-2699 or Nancy Walker, 594-3905 to place your order. Delivery can be made to home or business.

Call the BBB at (785) 232-0454 for a business report on a tax professional before you turn your personal records over to a company that may misuse the information.

Legion post No. 228
At the American Legion Second District Convention, held at Dwight-Cowles Post No. 370 in Overland Park March 27-28, Lloyd Beaton Post No. 228, Baldwin City, received the "Ezra Campbell Community Service Award." The award was given to the American Legion Post within the district that has done the most to serve the needs of its community in the period from April 2003 through March 2004. The award was presented by Chuck Shoemaker, District Community Service Chairman and accepted by T.J. Danley, Past Commander of Post No. 228, on behalf of the Post members whose contributions made the award possible.
Poets featured at
The Lawrence Arts Center, 940 New Hampshire, will feature local poets for the second annual Lawrence Poetry Series at 7 p.m. every Friday during April. Included in the poets are Baldwin residents John and Shannon Musgrave on April 16.
