BHS library receives multiple copies of controversial book

Students wanting to read the Baldwin School District’s most current controversial book will now have a better chance of getting a copy. Six copies of Robert Cormier’s “We All Fall Down” were donated to the high school library this week by Baldwin resident Jennifer Hayes.
City to see hike in sewer rates

Baldwin residents will soon see an increase in their sewer rates. The Baldwin City Council approved in a 5-0 vote Monday night to increase sewer rates 15 percent — an average increase of $2 a month — to meet the debt service and operations costs of the new wastewater treatment plant.

Baldwin resident publishes biography of great-grandmother

When Kathie Graziano began researching the life of Jessie Hale, the Baldwin resident knew very little about her great-grandmother. But by the time Graziano was done, she had enough information about her relative to fill a book — which is exactly what she did. Graziano recently published her first book “Jessie’s Footsteps,” a biography and memoir about her great-grandmother. “I was encouraged by people on the west coast, and researchers and historians, that this, her life, had historical value,” she said.
