BJHS girls finish with third place at league meet

The Baldwin Junior High School girls track team came out of the season with a third place finish at league on May 2 in Prairie View. The team had many good athletes this season with many personal records broken.
BJHS boys teams finish second

On May 2, the Baldwin Junior High School boys track team wrapped up its season with the league track meet in Wellsville. The seventh and eighth grade teams each finished second.
BHS golfers stormed out

On Thursday, the Baldwin High School varsity golfers went to Perry for what the Bulldogs thought would be just another meet, but got a little more than they bargained for. The competition ended up being cut short, and the team raced home to beat the weather.

The Baldwin High School baseball team put together back-to back-games with solid offensive outings Saturday at Paola. With 10 runs scored in the first game and seven in the second, the Bulldogs pushed their season record to 3-8

Not only have the recent storms been wreaking havoc on tornado damaged areas of eastern Kansas and Missouri, they have also been messing with the Baldwin High School softball team’s schedule.
Boys track finishes in sixth place

The Baldwin High School boys track team turned in another strong showing, finishing sixth in the 19 team field at Wellsville High School’s annual Redbud Relays on Friday.
Girls track brings home first once again

The Baldwin High School girls track team has won five titles this year, and are currently on a four-meet winning streak. The Bulldogs’ most recent victory happened to be Friday at the Wellsville Redbud Relays, winning by 17 points.

Jordan Schaecher has his post-high school plans all mapped out. After attending Johnson County Community College for a year, the Baldwin High School senior intends on continuing his education at Kansas State University majoring in design and construction management.

Anna Skaggs feels she is prepared for life beyond high school. But the Baldwin High School senior credits her time in high school for getting her ready for the future. “It is what you make it,” Skaggs said. “Baldwin has all the courses that can prepare you.”
Strong finish for Baldwin High tennis

After winning another team title on Saturday, the Baldwin High School tennis team is prepared to prove it can contend for the state title. The team finished in first place at DeSoto with 54 points, followed by Ottawa 28, Gardner-Edgerton 24, Paola 20, DeSoto 16, Immaculata 14 and Lansing 12.

BCRC to offer summer day camps for youth

Children don’t have to spend the summer months inside in front of the TV watching movies or playing video games. Instead they can spend the summer playing games, making arts and crafts, solving puzzles and going to the swimming pool as part of the Baldwin City Recreation Commission’s summer day camps.
