One on one with Benjamin Franklin
Benjamin Franklin visited the fifth grades at Baldwin Elementary School last week and it wasn't on a hundred dollar bill.
The famous inventor and public servant, portrayed by John Walburn, told the students Thursday about some of Benjamin Franklin's inventions and discoveries, including the well-known experiment involving a kite , a key and a storm.
Walburn also shared with the students how people used to make soap and pop popcorn when Franklin was living.
The presentation, "A Talk with Benjamin Franklin," was sponsored by the Character Development Advocacy of Douglas County's Project Integrity. Its goal is to show how integrity was important to Franklin's accomplishments in science and public service.
