Local man killed in accident

A Baldwin man was killed in a one-vehicle accident last week. Clifford Sheldon, 54, was killed Jan. 31 when he lost control of his vehicle on a rural gravel road, hit a bridge rail and fell 10 feet into a dry culvert, according to Franklin County Sheriff Craig Davis.

A lineup tweak over the Christmas break proved to be just what the Baldwin High School Bulldog girls needed to bring in the New Year in style. The Bulldogs hammered old nemesis Ottawa 66-41 Friday night to ring in 2003 loudly.
Twins take bike riding to another level

Jordan and Cameron Christian, like most other children their age, ride bicycles for fun. But the 8-year-old twin sister and brother have taken their love of riding bikes to another level. For 11 1/2 months out of the year, the pair travel across the country competing in BMX races. “The sport is very fun for us,” Cameron said. In a BMX competition, the riders race through a course made up of hills and turns in an attempt to make it to the finish line with the fastest time. “It’s like when you ride a bike on the street but you have jumps and turns,” Cameron said. “Basically the sport is about learning and trying your best at it.”
