Sunday marked the annual holiday light parade in downtown Baldwin. Holiday activities Sunday included Baker University’s Vespers services, Ives Chapel nativity display, the Baldwin Community Arts Council art sale, caroling, dancing and a visit from Santa.

Payment of students’ hospital bills debated by board members

Bills from more than 20 Baldwin students’ recent trip to the hospital emergency room total more than $7,000, but Supt. James White doesn’t think the district is responsible for the cost.

Flory sets new BHS win mark

History was made for one Bulldog wrestler Saturday. Senior Kyle Flory went 4-1 at the East Kansas Duals, hosted by Shawnee Mission East High School, and moved into first place on the Baldwin High School all-time wins list.
BHS girls hammer Trojans

Despite a slow start and cold shooting, the Baldwin High School girls basketball team put together a solid game and went on to a 66-33 win over the Osawatomie Trojans in the season opener Friday night.
Bulldogs win season opener

Friday’s opening basketball game between Baldwin High School and Osawatomie looked like just that — the season opener, which is always a little rough. But, BHS’s Bulldogs used a strong second half to walk away with a 58-44 win over the Trojans to kick off the new season in fine style.
