BJHS track wins another
The Baldwin Junior High School seventh and eighth grader boys both took first at the track meet in Louisburg on April 22. The Bulldogs competed against Louisburg and Eudora.
The eighth grade 4x200-meter relay team broke the school record time of 1:44.7, which was set in 1976, with a time of 1:43.9. The team consisted of Aaron Mills, Matt Myers, Jacob Runer and Blake Weiden.
"Many athletes are breaking their personal records," said head coach Bench Currie. "We still need to continue working with our relay teams which might be a weakness for us."
On Friday, the Bulldogs ran in Wellsville at Wellsville Relays. As a team the boys came away with a fourth place finish out of six. The sprint medley team of Weiden, Runer, Myers and Mills got first place.
"My goal for the season is to win league," said Currie. "I think that we stand a chance of accomplishing this feat."
The next meet was Tuesday at Louisburg, but results weren't available by press time.
