Bigger, faster, stronger

clinic coming to Baldwin

The Baldwin High School Booster Club is playing host to a Bigger, Faster, Stronger Clinic from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Baldwin High School.

Key points to be stressed at the clinic are strength training, year-round training, record keeping, spring training, agility training, endurance training, flexibility training, plyometric training, rest, nutrition and goal setting.

Cost of the clinic is $10. For more information, contact BHS football coach Mike Berg.

Tennis camp scheduled

for Sunday at Baker

The Baker University tennis team will offer a tennis clinic for both children and adults from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Baker Courts.

All 15 players will work with clinic participants on learning basic strokes as well as the fundamentals of the game.

"The Baker tennis team is full of very talented kids that have experienced tennis at all levels and all around the world," said Baker tennis coach Regan Dodd. "At the clinic they will be there to give instruction and share their knowledge with the community."

The cost of the clinic is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.

The Baker Courts are located at the corner of Grove and Seventh streets in Baldwin City.

Trevor's Tournament

set for May 10-11

The third-annual Trevor's Tournament, a coed softball tournament/candlelight vigil to benefit the Trevor Leeker Scholarship Foundation, will be May 10-11.

Trevor was the son of Bill and Michelle Leeker who passed away on Feb. 17, 2001, of a rare genetic disease called Krabbes. Proceeds from the tournament go toward a scholarship fun to aid an individual entering a field focused on special needs children.

Deadline for registration for the tournament is April 21. Cost is $125 per team or $15 per individual who will be placed on a team. Teams should be 10-12 people, divided equally among male and female.

Annual Nash Dash

will be on May 10

Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center will conduct the second-annual Nash Dash 5K Fun Run and Walk and 1-Mile Walk on May 10, 2003 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Lawrence Union Pacific Depot.
